#GivingTuesday (November 28, 2017) is an international movement to celebrate generosity and remind us all about the importance of giving.
Founded on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it is held each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.
It is also the start of Green Valleys Watershed Association’s Annual Appeal! This #GivingTuesday, will you make a year-end contribution to support our work of science-based stream protection and environmental education?
Last year, the generosity of our members and friends helped us raise over $40,000, which empowered our organization to accomplish the following:
- Begin the master planning process to transform our existing education building to accommodate our growing education and science programs;
- Install a radio telemetry tower at our Welkinweir headquarters as part of a regional collaboration that studies the migrations of birds and other wildlife; and
- Work to preserve forested land adjacent to Welkinweir – permanently protecting a section of the Horse-Shoe Trail and the Exceptional Value (EV) Beaver Run, home to wild trout and other creatures.
This year, help us build on these accomplishments and keep us moving strongly into 2018 by making a secure, online donation to our Annual Appeal.
Your tax-deductible, year-end gift will be gratefully received and wisely used to help us connect even more students, families, individuals, and communities to the beautiful streams which are an integral part of the local, natural places we cherish.
Annual Appeal requests will be in the mail soon. This #GivingTuesday, save a tree and donate online!
Thank you for helping us promote and protect clean, local streams – this Giving Tuesday and every day!
