Welkinweir, the home of the Green Valleys Association, is a country estate nestled into a hillside on a 197-acre arboretum and nature preserve in the heart of Chester County.
The Estate House offers a splendid setting for private parties, business meetings, civic functions, receptions and other special events for 15 to 150 persons. Rental space is also available at the pavilion.
The view from the formal living room to the large pond below is why this wonderful estate is called “Welkinweir.” The Old English name translates to “where the sky meets the water” and Green Valleys’ Welkinweir translates into a one-of-a-kind event location.
The formal gardens surrounding the fully furnished Estate House feature ornamental plantings and specimen trees. Walk down Azalea Lane or stroll through the Pinetum, a garden with dwarf evergreens from around the world. This unique setting is the ideal spot for a formal reception or a casual event.
“Azalea Lane” is just one of the landscape features that make Welkinweir a truly ideal location to stage your next event. Five ponds, a meandering brook, stone wall remnants of a 200 year-old barn, a spring house, and acres and acres of rolling hills, meadows, and protected forests with native plants accompany the magnificent home making Welkinweir a unique location.
