Annual Celebration

Savor a fall evening in the garden with family at our annual Mother’s Day Tea. From the tented terrace overlooking Welkinweir’s pond and gardens, guests enjoy elegant light fare, delicious hot & iced teas, and scrumptious desserts. Wander the gardens afterwards; view the historic estate; or follow along on a guided tour of both. Advanced reservations required.

Summer Nature Nights

Free, family fun once a week in the summertime! Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy Welkinweir’s gardens and natural areas after hours. Join a guided walk around the ponds to search for wildlife, or wander the grounds at your leisure. Special guests present on something new and exciting during one program each month.

Run for Green Valleys – Trail Race and Fun Run

Challenge yourself during this long-distance trail run through some of the most scenic countryside in northern Chester County! Jump across streams, sprint through fields, and dash up and down forested hills towards the finish line for prizes. After-race refreshments and vendors will help you re-fuel. A Fun Run around the ponds at Welkinweir will follow the trail race start.

Member Celebration

Green Valleys’ supporters are invited to attend a memorable evening of delicious food and wine, surrounded by lovely autumn scenery at the historic Welkinweir Estate,! Guest speakers present on thought-provoking topics related to water quality and watershed health. This is an event not to be missed!

Holiday Open House & Member Appreciation

The historic estate house will be decorated in holiday splendor for all to enjoy. Celebrate the season with joyful music from the estate’s pipe organ; glimpse the public garden and wintry views of forests and ponds from inside the warm estate; and learn about the history of our headquarters, which spans three centuries.
