At the adult level, GVA presents informative programs to build awareness of environmental issues including stream health, farm preservation, conservation landscaping, even land and wildlife management techniques that promote good Earth stewardship. Programs are typically held at Welkinweir, GVA's headquarters.

Free, Guided Wildlife Walks
GVA’s Saturday morning Wildlife Walks are free, monthly nature walks for interested birders, families, scout troops, and anyone else interested in learning more about the variety of birds, plants and other wildlife on our Welkinweir property and the local area. Wildlife Walks are led by volunteer naturalists and educators. Additionally, any bird species sighted during the walks are recorded and shared with regional groups in order to construct a broader understanding of the bird population distribution in the area.

Family Programs
GVA hosts whole family events to build a sense of community within our
membership and watershed neighborhoods. Programs bring people together to
study local streams, learn where to find owls in winter, read the night sky
and discover the variety of wildlife species in their neighborhoods.

Service Learning Programs
A wonderful way to help the Earth heal is through volunteer service. GVA's service projects focus on improving the quality of the environment at Welkinweir. Projects include landscape restoration, reforestation, trail work, gardening, habitat creation, and wildlife monitoring. GVA will tailor a project to meet a groups or individuals specific needs and interest. Please bring us your ideas so we can help you build a program tailored to your specific needs.
